Me and Leo, who passed away in 2023.
He was good company.
I'm a bass trombonist, recovering paralegal, and enthusiastic amateur of too many things to list tidily.
I spent years as a professional musician — Air Force Bandsman, college teacher, and player of low brass in various configurations. Eventually I traded the slide for a legal pad and built a long career as a paralegal and contracts manager, most recently drafting talent and entertainment agreements for Disney Live Entertainment. It turns out intellectual property law and trombone have more in common than you'd think: both require precision, patience, and a high tolerance for people who don't read the fine print.
These days I live in Roanoke, Virginia, where I play bass trombone in the Roanoke Valley Community Band, serve on the board of the Roanoke County Library's Friends of the Library, and participate in not one but two book clubs. Retirement is, apparently, busier than advertised.
I'm an avid reader — science fiction especially, though I'll follow a good story anywhere. I love technology (Mac household, no apologies), movies, history, museums, the outdoors, good food, and travel up and down the East Coast.
I am proudest of being a husband and father.
You always need to keep learning and moving forward. This site is one small attempt at both.
